ZenZool: which is better..'Finding yourself' or 'Creating yourself' ?

ColorStorm: IMO, it's a mixture of both. In most cases. I mean, maybe some people are really ready to move on to a whole new personality, but for the most part we have a momentum (as part of having a path) and not only is it healthy and probably useful to take heed to it, but trying to defy it would only be to be unholy (on-whole-y), trying to pretend a large part of oneself doesn't exist.

I suppose that argument applies more toward changing vs. not changing, or to knowing yourself vs. creating yourself, than finding yourself per se, but I think there's a place for finding oneself, to a strong degree, because there is so much to ourselves that we don't know, because we are born into this world with a 'clean slate' on a certain level, or perhaps because we are connected to way more than just 'ourselves' . There's a lot there that's worth uncovering (if for no other reason than to be more comfortable with ourselves and wiser and to make better decisions in the future). This colors and deepens the above arguments about totally recreating oneself being to defy a large part of oneself and it being worth it to take heed to one's path or momentum.

Just as one (probably) shouldn't try to totally recreate themselves in every moment, one should probably not only try to find themselves either. Life is inevitably a process of self-creation; perhaps even finding oneself is, on a more ultimate level, creating oneself. Either way, the fact is that there are many situations in life that cause is to make decisions about who we are that we had never encountered before, maybe not even in past lives, and also that evolution or growth is a part of life, so even those decisions we come across that we have actually come across before, we may want to decide differently on this time.. maybe for self-improvement; maybe for self-expression (aka divine expression), which comes from a dynamic place and to some degree must always be fresh for it to be true to source; maybe simply for continued exploration of all possible experiences of self and the cosmos..

ZenZool: wow..a brilliant response..a lot in there I can totally understand.....I enjoyed reading it..thanks..
